The artist’s serigraphs are abstract, colourful, geometric compositions that incorporate the urban grid as subject and structure. The recurring theme in his work of a fantastic or futuristic city lends itself to serigraphy. Kimura who is both a painter and printer studied art at Yokohama University and at Hosei University in Tokyo but currently lives in New York City. During his career he has exhibited throughout Japan
and in the United States and his work is in the collection of the Kent State University School Art Gallery. His City series has sold extensively at auction.
